Hi Flippy! You didn't annoy me in the least, but you certainly did goad me to put together more text than I'm really comfortable doing these days.

I do feel compelled to point out that you allowed me, not the double spaces I was petitioning for, but single spaces. You can keep those, but thanks for your generosity!

Ping me next time you traipse up the corridor, we should grab a beer!

I love this, Kevin. I'm sorry to have annoyed you, but I'm glad that it ignited the fire that led to this blog post. Well done, good sir! I will allow your single spaces!

You've heard me say it before and I'll say it again, the Executive has 1/3 the power of the country's destiny than the voters like to think and the media pretends. That being said, your blowing in the wind metaphor is spot on.

The president has primary responsibility over the only real responsibility of our government, national security. To that end, he has a lot of power for an individual. But the power to affect economic change, to try and diddle with the dynamic systems that drives employment or real estate prices, or to make centuries-old religious rivals play nice all of the sudden, not so much. His only failing there was making people believe he could. Maybe he thought he could.

You're in good company. I remember something about a presumptive Nobel peace prize being awarded. Think they want it back?

Allison,
I am Kevin's partner and am quite interested in your research. Some of my colleagues are also doing studies on digital language use and blogging.

My Ph.D. is in language and rhetoric, and I love teaching about language change in my linguistics classes.

It has been a year since you posted on Kevin's blog, so I assume you weren't able to use him as a participant in your study? I hope you did, tho. As Kevin replied, we would be interested in the data and analysis of your scholarship. Have you finished your dissertation? Love to hear your findings.
